2D animations

2D animations, mostly made on After Effects, sometimes with a little help from Illustrator or Photoshop.

Kinetic Typo: Through The Misery

Kinetic typography, based on the lyrics of the song "Through The Misery" by the band Diamond Black.

The song discusses the feeling of jealousy that comes from comparing ourselves to others, who are seemingly more successful than us. It ends on a positive note, stating that everyone can find their own way out of this mindset.

To convey the heavy atmosphere from the beginning of the song, I chose a palette of black and very light gray. The white color and the brightness only appear at the end with the encouraging message.

A Summer afternoon

The idea was to make the viewer feel the atmosphere of summer, with a surprise at the end to spice things up.

The only two constraints I chose were to only use simple shapes and the same style, sticking to a fairly limited color palette.

I created the sound design using royalty-free effects.

Diamond Black on tour

Music is often a great inspiration for my animations. The departure on tour of one of my favorite rock groups, Diamond Black, was the starting point for this short film.

Animation in “paper cut” style and sound design made by myself. With lots of winks that band members and fans will recognize!

Opening credits mock-up: Lazy COmpany

School project. The instructions were to choose the opening of a series and to completely reimagine it (both the visuals and the music), focusing on a particular aesthetic aspect.

I chose the French series “Lazy Company”, that takes place during World War 2. This series often references western movies, whether in terms of shots or colorimetry. This is the aspect that I chose to highlight, taking inspiration from old western movie posters.

Softwares used: After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator.
